Bowman County is home to many herds of antelope, mule deer and white tail deer, as well as the majestic pheasant. During the hunting season, Bowman County is home to many out-of-state hunters as well as North Dakotans. With many different types of game to choose from, Bowman County is a sportsman's paradise year round.
The museum is a regional research and repository for history from within 100 miles of Bowman, ND. We have departments active in Archaeological, Genealogical, and Paleontological research as well as collections relating to local history. The museum is one of the major cultural centers in Bowman and the surrounding area. We routinely showcase local artistic talents, traveling displays, and sponsor guest speakers on many topics. Known as one of the best facilities in the state, the Bowman County Fairgrounds is home to several events year round, most notably home to the PRCA Rodeo. Come see top competitors from right here in the Badlands Circuit, former NFR qualifiers and even some that have been crowned World Champions!
Unique to a rural community, Bowman offers a great entertainment option at the Bowman Theatre. Privately owned, this theater is the original 375 seat theatre.
